Furnishing Futures Partner Takeover

Join our Official Charity Partner, Furnishing Futures, on Friday 11 April and Wednesday 15 April for a programme of inspiring talks and creative workshops at the Ideal Home Show.

What’s On

On Friday 11th April, visitors can take part in a luxury candle-making workshop, a creative, hands-on experience designed to inspire calm and reflection, celebrating the power of home environments to nurture wellbeing.

On Wednesday 15th April, Emily Wheeler, Founder and CEO of Furnishing Futures, will speak on both the Main Stage and the Spring Clean Stage, sharing powerful insight into how our homes can support wellbeing, mental clarity and healing.

Drawing on her experience creating safe, fully furnished homes for women and children escaping domestic abuse, Emily explores the deep connection between environment and emotional recovery, and why thoughtful interiors can play a vital role in rebuilding lives.

About Furnishing Futures

Furnishing Futures is a London-based charity dedicated to creating healing homes for women and children rebuilding their lives in empty social housing after domestic abuse.

Furnishing Futures will be part of this year's show across two spaces. At their exhibition stand, visitors can learn more about the charity through before-and-after photography, information about their work and a fundraising raffle featuring two beautiful pieces of art generously donated by Cramer & Bell and artist Cissy Cook. Visit them on stand L130.

Furniture poverty is a devastating issue for more than 14 million people in the UK, and is a problem that is literally hidden behind closed doors.

Less than 2% of social housing is furnished, leaving vulnerable families in empty homes and worsening trauma, while essentials push many into debt.

At the same time, 22 million furniture items go to landfill yearly. Furnishing Futures repurposes these to create safe, comfortable homes.

As part of our collaboration, we are aiming to raise £5,000 - enough to fully design and furnish one complete healing home. Visitors can support this mission by adding a donation when purchasing tickets or by contributing during their visit.
