Furnishing Futures is an innovative charity founded by former social worker and interior designer, stylist and writer Emily Wheeler. We combine social work values with interior design skills to create trauma-informed, fully furnished healing homes for women and children escaping domestic abuse who are placed in empty social housing or living with furniture poverty, and who have experienced multiple disadvantages and trauma.

We furnish these properties with beautiful, donated interiors products — transforming cold, empty spaces into warm, welcoming homes where families can begin again with dignity. We do this by repurposing unsellable or surplus stock in new or as-new condition, such as ex-display pieces, returns, refurbished items or those left over from press shoots.
