Megan McKenna shares MasterChef lessons, home life insights and new music plans
The TV personality and singer reflects on her time on MasterChef, balancing motherhood and a new direction in music at Ideal Home Show Spring 2026 in partnership with Selina Finance.
Megan McKenna shared a candid look at life on and off screen during her appearance at the Ideal Home Show, opening up about her experience on MasterChef, the realities of home life and her return to music.
Learning from the best on MasterChef
Looking back on her time on MasterChef, Megan described the experience as a unique opportunity to learn from leading chefs.
“On MasterChef, I had chefs come in every single week to teach me, so I was learning from some of the best chefs in England,” she said. “It is quite hard filming, with the pressure of timing, and I'm the messiest cook ever.”
The reality of home life
Away from filming, Megan spoke honestly about the demands of everyday life, balancing content creation and motherhood.
From putting her son to bed to tackling a full kitchen clean up at the end of the day, she highlighted the less glamorous side of cooking at home, admitting it can take over an hour to get everything back in order.

Embracing life as a boy mum
Megan also shared her thoughts on family life, revealing she feels she is destined to be a “boy mum”.
With her son Landon already showing a love for football, she anticipates weekends spent on the sidelines. “This is my life now,” she said.
A new chapter in music
Alongside her home life, Megan has been focusing on new music, inspired by the changes in her life over the past three years.
“I've been in the studio for months, I've got so many stories to tell,” she said. Her upcoming material leans into a singer songwriter and country influenced sound, described as “really easy listening”.
