We’re honoured to be working with Furnishing Futures as the Official Charity Partner of the Ideal Home Show 2026, in partnership with Selina Finance.
Furnishing Futures is a remarkable charity dedicated to creating healing homes for women and children who have escaped domestic abuse and been placed in empty social housing. By transforming unfurnished properties into safe, welcoming spaces, they help families begin to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
Furniture poverty affects more than 14 million people across the UK, with less than 2% of social housing provided furnished. For vulnerable families fleeing crisis situations, being placed into completely empty accommodation can deepen trauma and push them further into debt. At the same time, millions of high-quality furniture pieces are discarded each year. Furnishing Futures bridges this gap by rescuing furniture from the interiors industry and using it to create thoughtfully designed, fully furnished homes for those in need.
Throughout the show, visitors will be able to see their impact first-hand within The Ideal Home itself, where a powerful “before and after” installation highlights the transformative difference a fully furnished, nurturing environment can make.
On Friday 11th April, guests can take part in a luxury candle-making workshop — a calming, creative experience celebrating the importance of home as a place of wellbeing. On Wednesday 15th April, Founder and CEO Emily Wheeler will speak on both the Main Stage and the Spring Clean Stage, sharing insight into the powerful connection between our surroundings and emotional recovery.
As part of our partnership, we are aiming to raise £5,000 — enough to fully design and furnish one complete healing home. Visitors can support the campaign by adding a donation when purchasing tickets or contributing during the show.
By attending the talks, joining the workshop or supporting the fundraising effort, you will be helping turn empty properties into homes filled with comfort, stability and hope.
