Kate Sheehan
Occupational Therapist
Kate Sheehan is a highly respected Occupational Therapist with 39 years of clinical experience, specialising in accessible housing design and the impact of home environments on wellbeing. A graduate of the Derby School of Occupational Therapy, she has been a consultant Occupational Therapist for Stannah for 25 years, supporting product design and marketing. Kate has authored and co-authored key publications including the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide, Minor Adaptations without Delay, and chapters for The Essential Guide for Occupational Therapists. She maintains a small clinical caseload, provides mentoring to local authorities, and works closely with industry to improve inclusive design. Internationally recognised, she has presented in Australia, Italy and the USA, and was awarded Fellowships from RCOT in 2022 and the University of Worcester in 2023.
