Matt Smith-Wood
Matt’s passion for interiors and vintage objects began early and were shaped by time spent alongside his father, a skilled antique restorer. He later studied Interior Architecture & Design at Coventry University and UIC Barcelona, where he deepened his understanding of spatial design and its emotional impact. His career began in kitchen and bathroom design, where he developed a signature approach that places equal value on function, form, and feeling.
Influenced by Brutalist architecture and the dynamic interplay of light and shadow, Matt’s aesthetic blends natural materials with sculptural simplicity. Japanese furniture, modern art, and an appreciation for texture all inform his thoughtfully curated spaces. Matt gained national attention as a finalist on the BBC’s flagship show Interior Design Masters. Since then, he has established his own interior design studio, working across residential, commercial and hospitality projects, from a residence at The Standard Hotel in Lisbon to commissions throughout the UK and beyond. Now, Matt brings his design philosophy to his own kitchen range, celebrating craftsmanship, materiality, and tailored living through kitchens that are as tactile and timeless as they are functional.
