Loose Spirits is a new craft spirits company based in Carnoustie, Scotland comprising the Crísdéan range and The Rum Runner's Collection. Using their years of experience in the industry, the small team behind Loose Spirits has been invited to exhibit at one of the UK's largest retailers as well as festivals and trade shows around the UK. 

The Crísdéan range is named after one of the company founders, Chris. Through years in the drinks industry the members of the loose spirits team became disenfranchised with many of the methods being used to create craft spirits, often relying upon cheap imported spirit, artificial flavourings and high sugar contents. This was particularly important for Chris because as a type 2 diabetic, he was unable to drink many of the new products appearing on the market and so he set out with a small team in order to create something that everyone could enjoy using natural ingredients and minimising the amount of sugar in his products. 

The Rum Runner's Collection is inspired by the little known Scottish smugglers who filled the speakeasies of 1920s and 30s America with the high quality rum that fueled the golden age of cocktails. This includes Captain Bill McCoy (the real McCoy) who in the face of poverty turned to rum running and eventually became known for his dramatic standoffs with gangsters, politicians and the US Coast Guard while smuggling rum from Bimini and Nassau. Each bottle in the collection features a story of one of these smugglers or their ships, detailing their exploits and shedding light on this mostly unknown part of history.
