Smart Guide to the Show

The 2008 Daily Mail Ideal Home Show is huge, and packed with things you won’t want to miss. Follow these insider tips to plan your perfect day out:

Check the day’s events

When you arrive, check the timetable of events for the day at the information points by the entrances. Make a note of the time and place of those you want to catch.

Book your ASK AN EXPERT session

As soon as you can, book your slot for free, professional advice on a host of home-related topics.

  • Practical issues – go to the main Ask An Expert stand in the Home Improvements zone, Earls Court 2.
  • Interior design mini-consultations – go to Scheme & Co in Earls Court 1. Book your appointment in advance by calling 0800 0381 001, or go to stand 1D25 when you arrive.
  • Gardening – go to gardening Ask An Expert in Outdoor Living, Earls Court 2. No booking needed for this stand: just turn up!

Don’t miss anything

You’ll find a floorplan in your showguide, or pick up a free map – they are handed out as you enter the Show. Use it to work your way round methodically to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Arrange where to meet up

If your party wants to split then meet up again, why not make use of the seating areas between Show sections (indicated on the floor plan), or one of the many places in which to eat and drink.

Make time to chill

Serious shopping can be hard work on the feet, so be sure to take regular breaks. There’s plenty of choice for all tastes.

  • For quick pit stops, bars and cafes are dotted around the edge of both halls.
  • To relax for a bit longer, there are several larger cafes at the heart of the show.
