The Ideal Home Show 2010 is supporting ABF The Soldiers' Charity to raise £100,000 for ‘Ideal Homes for Heroes.'
This ground-breaking partnership with the new-look Soldiers' Charity aims to raise £100,000 to fund grants and home improvements for soldiers, including those returning from current and recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. The money raised through the appeal will help more than 280 soldiers, former soldiers and their families in need of support, changing their lives for the better. The scale and scope of the appeal work will be vast but in particular will help with vital home adaptations, home improvements, general housing needs and homelessness of those who served in the armed forces.
The appeal will also offer funds to support older veterans who need assistance with home adaptations so they can stay in their own homes, as well as supporting those coping with other issues, such as homelessness, debt, and unemployment, and those suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
To meet this £100,000 target, the Ideal Home Show is donating 50p of every ticket sold to this appeal. In addition, there will be a special Troops Day on the 22nd March, the first Monday of the show, as a tribute to the Armed Forces. This will include military themed events and performances, with hundreds of troops attending to officially launch this fantastic appeal.
