The Innovation Home is a typical Victorian city home reimagined for contemporary living.
A huge white wooden clad cantilevered extension takes the living space out to reverse the house layout to place the living area on the top floor, allowing light and far-reaching views, and creating a sheltered area for outdoor relaxation beneath.
The interior of the home combines state-of-the-art smart technology with a bright family friendly décor that celebrates the home’s original construction brick and it’s transformation structural metal girders.
Designed by Sophie Robinson
The Innovation Home has been designed by one of the industries top interior stylists, Sophie Robinson. With over 20 years experience, she has not only worked across all media, including TV on the major channels but also runs courses in interior design.
Best known for fronting BBC2’s The Great Interior Design Challenge, Sophie is currently the new interior designer for BBC ONE’s DIY SOS. She has built a reputation in the industry for her daring and joyful use of colour and her schemes never fail to inspire with their boldness and verve. She is regularly employed by successful brands to design trend led decorating features and her natural design talent is bought to life in the stunning room sets she produces for photographic shoots, events and exhibitions such as The Ideal Home Show.
We are thrilled to have her design The Innovation Home in this year’s show homes. Within the house Sophie has showcased some of the most popular trends in interior design, in order to show you how you can get the look in your own home. She loves nothing more than to inspire people to make their homes truly personal and individual and is on a mission to ‘Ban the beige’!
